Q1- What warranty will I have when I purchase my new car?
You will have a full normal factory warranty when you purchase your new car using our service. As licensed motor dealers we are bound by industry laws and regulations that are designed to protect you. This protection is a priority for us to ensure you as our clients receive all the applicable factory warranties. In fact, Dan had many years in the service department of an award winning dealership and knows exactly what is and what isn’t covered by warranty. If in doubt, just call us that is where our experience and ongoing client care will benefit you.

Just a word of advice, we often hear of some car salespeople telling potential buyers that they are not covered by warranty if they purchase using a broker. This is a blatant lie and a common trick used by car salespeople to get your business. It is an unhelpful comment and only creates mistrust in the industry. If you come across this, just walk away. You are obviously dealing with someone that can’t be trusted and who is not working in your best interests.

Q2 - What warranty will I have with a used vehicle?
You will have a statutory warranty when you purchase from a licensed motor dealer. If the vehicle is up to 10 years old or up to 160,000 kilometres, you will get three (3) months statutory warranty. If the vehicle is older than 10 years or over 160,000 kilometres then you will get one (1) month statutory. If you purchase privately, you will have no warranty unless it is still under factory warranty.

Q3 - What do you offer us that a dealership can’t?
You will receive the same physical end product when you purchase direct from a dealer, but that is where the similarity ends.

One of the main differences is the fact that when you purchase from a salesman in a sales yard, they have one motive. And that is to sell you a car from their car yard, and only their car yard. (bearing in mind that they earn commission from their sales).

Whereas our objective is to look at all your needs, such as:- business, lifestyle, family, and budget and find you a vehicle that takes this all into consideration. We profile you and your vehicle needs. We then work with you to get you exactly the right vehicle, making sure you make an informed choice at all times.

We then source the vehicle from our huge network of reputable dealers. We only use the dealers that we know will offer our clients the correct back up service and high standards that we abide by.

When we have located a vehicle (if it is a used car) Dan will then go and inspect the vehicle. Dan takes particular care when it comes to service history, based on his vast experience as a mechanic, technician and service manager; this area is a top priority. If the vehicle cannot prove its history, it is immediately rejected.

He then carries out a basic inspection of the vehicle paying attention to mechanical and body condition. Then Dan will take the vehicle for a test drive listening for road noises, monitoring driveability and overall performance.

When he is satisfied the vehicle is up to standard, he will then start negotiations on your behalf. All the above factors are in place before you are presented with a vehicle for your personal inspection. Your inspection will take place at a time and place that suits you. If you want to obtain an independent inspection, we will arrange that for you as well.

When you have decided to purchase, we will arrange all the necessary contracts, paperwork and delivery. We can also arrange your motor finance and insurance if you wish. You will not have to worry about a single thing, that is what we do. No Stress! No Worries!

Q4 - What makes you different from other brokers?
There are brokers and there are brokers. Like all industries there are good operators, and then there are the others. Some Brokers only go to private auction. They will charge you a fee, and you then buy a car that you can’t test drive and you know nothing of it’s service history. Private vehicles are often overpriced, because the sellers often have an unrealistic idea of what they think their car is worth. Yes, you can get an occasional bargain this way, but at what risk?

Many brokers usually only have a brokers license and are not bound by the same laws as a licensed motor dealer/ broker. What this means to you is they offer no warranty on your purchase.

There are also brokers out there that are not licensed at all, so it pays to check. There are brokers that offer ‘Cheap Cars”, well good luck with that one. What makes them cheap? I saw an ad the other day saying savings of up to $4000 on a $10,000 car. Well it’s a fair bet that that car was $4000 overpriced to start with. We don’t want to deliver ‘cheap cars’, we aim to deliver quality cars at a fair market price, usually with a good discount thrown in for good measure.

On the other hand, we are licensed motor dealers. What this means is that if we go to a dealers only auction and purchase on your behalf, we will be bound by the motor dealers act for your protection.

All the vehicles we deliver have a warranty and are subject to our high standards of inspection. Four factors are taken into account at all times when we source vehicles, they are:-
1. Service history
2. Mechanical soundness
3. Physical condition and appearance
4. Price

If just one of these objectives is not met or can’t be negotiated, we will walk away from the vehicle and find another that is more suitable.

Another point that makes us different from other brokers is the range of expertise and knowledge that we have. Dan has had a long career starting out as a humble mechanic, he then became the first master technician for Mitsubishi in Queensland. He also spent many years in the service department as a senior service advisor before starting his first management position as Service Manager in a dealership in Toowoomba. After many years in the service department he then went onto used car sales at Mitsubishi and Holden, then Wholesale and Fleet Management. This was followed as the position of Used Car Sales Manager with Mitsubishi, Honda & Mercedes, before becoming New Car Manager at Ford and Hyundai.

We have also run our own mobile mechanics business.

We believe that our expertise and experience within the motor vehicle industry would - by far - make us one of the most qualified brokerages in the state of Queensland.

This resource of knowledge is utilised to ensure our clients obtain the best value for money and service in the industry.

On top of that without going into Sandra’s resume, she has a background in customer service, management and small business and is committed to ensuring that they maintain their high standards in client service and care. As well as the ongoing development of the business, focussing on professionalism, standards and integrity in everything they do.

Suncoast Auto Brokers has built a fantastic reputation within the four years they have been operating, and work hard at maintaining and increasing this position within the industry.

Q5 - Where do you source the NEW cars, and should we work with you for the best outcome?
In a nutshell, we will deliver your new car ONLY from a reputable dealer for that particular brand and who gives us the very best possible deal! We mostly source the cars from dealerships in Brisbane and South East Queensland, though we do try and do business with the local dealers.

In order for us to make your new car experience everything that it should be, you can do a few things to help us help you:-

(1) Before you call us check out all of the details, accessories, etc of the new car you want. Make some initial price enquiries WITHOUT MAKING ANY COMMITMENT TO BUY and DO NOT MENTION that you intend to speak to us as a Broker! If the salesman says that "if you're checking deals and you find one better than ours let me know and I'll match it" Well, Think about it. He just had his chance to give you a better price and he didn’t - so why would you give him a second chance?

We repeat - DO NOT MENTION THAT YOU ARE THINKING OF USING A BROKER. If you do they will actively attempt to discourage this as they will immediately know that you have access to a PROFESSIONAL NEGOTIATOR who is FULLY AWARE of the ins-and-outs of the motor vehicle industry and who has direct contact to a large number of their competitors!!!!

(2) When you call us to act for you, just relax and let us do the work. You do not have to accept the deal we obtain for you, and if you're not ecstatic you can always revert back to your own negotiating!

(3) DON'T keep going back to the dealer to try to beat them down - this can be VERY damaging to your ability to buy well in the event you do not accept what we can achieve for you. All it will do is to make them adjust the "up-front" offer. They are EXPERTS in compensating for this ELSEWHERE. Trust us. We know. THEIR BUSINESS is to make sure THEY get the very best deal they can from EVERY aspect of the sale. From the vehicle, finance, accessories, and the value of the trade.

OUR BUSINESS to make sure YOU get THE BEST DEAL from EVERY aspects of your purchase, AND to do so from a REPUTABLE dealer. And you get us as a bonus - to back you up in the unlikely event you do have problems!

Think of it like this. The broker works for YOU, not for the Dealer. We are YOUR advocate.

Q6 - From where do you purchase used vehicles?
We source most of our vehicles from Brisbane and south east Queensland dealerships. We also deliver all over the country, so basically we will find the cars no matter where you are from. We don’t necessarily source vehicles that are close to where you live, they must have the strict criteria of:- Service history, price, body condition and mechanical soundness. We can also find vehicles at auction and from private sales.

Q7 - How do you get such good deals?
There are couple of reasons that we get these deals.

(1) One is the fact that we only deal with the sales manager. Traditionally, the public doesn’t see this person; they are the one out the back, calling the shots. Our network and reputation is such that we have established strong relationships with these managers and they are more than happy to do business with us. They are happy to pay us for this service as it also saves them money, they don’t have to pay their salesperson commission, or maintain their company car.

(2) The other reason is just plain old good negotiating skills. Because Dan has spent so many years in the industry, he speaks their language and constantly aims to get a fair deal for all concerned.

Q8 - Why can’t I get the same good deal?
In some cases you can. But be prepared to do your homework, waste a lot of your valuable time and speak to a lot of one eyed salespeople whose sole aim is to keep profit in the deal. And, what sort of backup do you have if you have a warranty issue? Or, just want some technical advice on your car? Probably, none! We would hazard a guess to say that once you have purchased from the salesperson, you pretty much won’t hear from them personally again. And any support you need, you will have to find for yourself.

Just ask yourself these questions:-
(1) Do I really know everything that I need to know about this vehicle?
(2) Am I really getting a good deal?
(3) Do I really have the time to do this?

Q9 - How much do you charge?
Nothing!!! Our service is absolutely free when we deliver you a vehicle that has been purchased from a dealership. In fact you will end up saving money by using us as we always negotiate a price that is discounted. We do offer some services that we charge for but they will be discussed with you fully before we proceed.

Q10 - How do you get paid?
When we organise a delivery from a dealership, they pay us a set brokerage fee. This is not a commission on the vehicle, as you would pay if you were dealing direct with the salesman yourself.

Q11 - What do I do if I have a warranty concern?
Call us. It is as simple as that. We will guide you as to what to do. We are committed to your ongoing care and we don’t forget you after delivery. You can tap into our experience at any time you want advice, at no charge. Dan had many years working in a busy and award winning dealership service department. Based on this experience he knows exactly what is and what isn’t covered by warranty. Please just call or email us!

Q12 - Where do I take my new car for warranty work?
You can take your new car to any same manufacturer’s dealership to have any warranty work attended to. It does not have to be the dealership that the car was purchased from. If in doubt, just call us.

Q13 - Should I purchase from my local dealer in case I have a warranty problem?
No, Why? It doesn’t make any difference the locality of where you purchase your vehicle. If you have a warranty concern it can be fixed locally without the obligation of purchasing it there. Once again if you are unsure just call us.

Q14 - Do I have to take my new car back to the place of purchase for servicing?
No, absolutely not !!!! We often hear of people that have been led to believe that they have to get their car serviced from the dealer they purchased from, but this is not the case. You can get your new car serviced from any licensed reputable service centre. As long as it is serviced according to the manufacturers log book manual you will not void your warranty. So long as no actual repair work is done that may be covered under warranty.

Q 15 - Can you help me sell my car?
Yes we can, just depends on your circumstances, financial expectations and your time frame. In most cases, we suggest you will achieve a higher price to sell it yourself privately and we are more than happy to guide you through this process. Click HERE to view our ‘how to sell your car privately – a guide’, and HERE to access our FREE Listing and Valuation service as well as the vehicles currently listed for Private Sale.

This page also provides you with full details of the other ways we can help.

Q 17 - Do you provide cheap cars?
The majority of our used vehicles are late model with deliveries starting from $8000 - $10,000 for small – medium vehicles and 4 x 4’s starting from around $15,000.

Any thing below this approximate price range and it becomes difficult to maintain to our high standard of condition, value for money, mechanical condition, & service history. Click HERE to view our 11 point personal protection policy.

The above aside, we do occasionally have access to trade-ins that are of a high quality, so please still call us and we will make a note of your details, in case such a vehicle becomes available.
